Receives State of Michigan Special Tribute

Battle Creek resident Ellen Goodwill celebrated her 114th birthday Tuesday at Advantage Living Center where she has lived for more than 12 years. She received a State of Michigan Special Tribute signed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Rep. Jim Haadsma, Sen. John Bizon and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist. While she was not able to have guests at her party, the nursing home dressed in flapper hats and played music from the decades while they all sang to her and presented her with a specially cake designed and donated by Continental Bakery.
